October Winemaker Dinner – Wet Jacket Wines

We are now taking bookings for our October Winemaker Dinner, which will be hosted by Greg Hay of Wet Jacket Wines.

Friday 28th October 2016, 7:00pm, Eichardt’s Private Hotel Parlour

This very special evening will feature a five-course degustation menu designed and prepared by Eichardt’s Executive Chef, Will Eaglesfield. Each of the five courses has been expertly matched with one of Wet Jackets superb wines.

Greg Hay – Captain / Vigneron

Greg first came to Central Otago in 1987 and was responsible for starting one of the first wineries in the region – Chard Farm, with his brother Rob Hay.

After spending nearly a decade in the family business, Greg sought a new challenge, and in 1998 was instrumental in the development of the Peregrine brand and growth up until 2015.
Greg’s passion for Central Otago and the desire to create a more boutique, personalised style wine business, coupled with his love of Fiordland, have inspired him to now venture into his own realm and start Wet Jacket wines.

With decades of experience his vision for Wet Jacket and the Woolshed is to step out from the norm and make the Woolshed the home of Wet Jacket Wines. Greg wants people to travel to the Woolshed for a unique multi-layered experience that starts with history and culminates in new world wines.

This philosophy of keeping the brand small and personal leads to Wet Jacket wines being available predominantly through the Woolshed Cellar Door and only a few restaurants throughout New Zealand.

Seats are priced at $135 per person which includes all food (five courses) and wines for the evening plus a welcome drink on arrival.

Seats are strictly limited and will again sell out quickly. To secure your seats simply call or email. Look forward to seeing you then!
