It’s been a busy month of planning and tasting (that’s the easy part!), and we are excited to share this year’s fare with everyone.
Christmas at The Grille – Chef’s notes;
We have something for everyone for Christmas at The Grille.
You can start light and zingy, such as our Scallop Carpaccio with Mango Salsa and Lime Dressing. Otherwise try something more traditionally festive; Smoked Goose Breast with Local Cherries and Hazelnut Praline.
Our mains options include fluffy Potato Gnocchi in Tomato and Locally-Grown Saffron sauce (think red and green for seasonal theming!). Then there’s no-nonsense classics like Roast Ham carved off-the-bone sourced from the superlative Havoc Farm here in Otago with Marmalade Glaze and Crispy Potatoes. Naturally, our Legendary Seafood Chowder is also available for those who just can’t help themselves!
Finally, you can finish off your meal with a boozy Christmas Pudding or for a lighter summery option New Zealand’s unbeatable classic Pavlova. This year we’ve given it a Scottish twist with Raspberries, Single Malt Cream and Honey. Enjoy all this while taking in our spectacular lake and mountain views for the ideal Christmas Dinner.
Christmas Lunch and Dinner sittings available $130 per person, includes 3 courses with glass of local sparkling wine on arrival.
